Sometimes when I’m out in nature, something catches my eyes, just for a moment taking my breath away and touching my heart. It is the essence and feeling of these moments that I try to capture on canvas.

I love the fact that some of the processes that shape our ancient landscape can be re-enacted on my canvas by using structure materials based on marble dust, putty, lime and local sands. I use pigments, inks, stains and local earth to achieve colours that retain the natural feel of the elements that make up this wonderful landscape.

When I was born, my parents decided to move to central Africa where I spent my first eight years growing up on research stations in remote areas of Cameroon and Chad. Following this we moved back to Bavaria near Munich where I finished my schooling and studied Art.

Perpetually restless I travelled many countries until chance brought me to Australia and I felt that I finally found my home. I was working in many places around Australia, but always returned to the west coast. My journey has taken me around the world with many life changes, but I never lost my passion for nature and my passion for art.
